The Department of Information Technology was established in the academic year1998-1999 with an initial intake of 40.The Department is accredited National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, Delhi for 3 years. The intake is increased to 90 from the academic year 2007-2008. In addition to this intake the department has 20% lateral entry students at the II B. Tech. level. Spread over an area of 4412 Sq.m, the department is progressing in pace with the need of time to cater the growing needs of students. Ten batches of students have graduated so far.
The Department has a number of well-equipped laboratories and provides excellent facilities for learning. The department has two well-equipped laboratories, one IT workshop and one Incubation Centre for project preparation and for research work. Laboratories are equipped with 110 high configured nodes with 2 IBM RAID Servers worth of 59 Lakhs. All Computer Labs and servers are supported by robust and reliable UPS system.
The department is manned by 22 well experienced faculties with an educational background of 2 Ph.D, 19 M.Tech and 1 B.Tech Qualifications. The Department has two Professors, one Associate Professor, and Nineteen Assistant Professors.
The Department is periodically organizes seminars, conferences, SDP, work shops, campus connect and guest lectures for the benefit of both the students and the staff. Personality Development programs are frequently conducted for the benefit of the students. These programmes help in imparting and developing soft skills which help the students to enhance the commitment at all levels.
